Creative Journeys Inspired by The Hobbit

These images show some of the work created by Grade 6 learners at Thomas Wildschutt Primary School while exploring “The Hobbit” by JRR Tolkien. The learners at TWSP wrote character descriptions of Gollum and Gandalf, imaginary diary accounts as well as producing art work using watercolours. Each learner has their own “Success Board, that highlights the steps they undertook in completing each assignment and includes the final piece. The learners are appreciating that the story of “The Hobbit” is more than a fantasy tale of dwarves, wizards and dragons. It is a story about growing up, making your own decisions and knowing when in life take the lead and when to go with the flow. They are greatly enjoying the story.
